About This Project

Join Esther Ekhart for a week of yoga and meditation in beautiful settings right on the beach in Greece.

What to expect

The week long retreat takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Okreblue retreat centre located at Fizili beach on the island of Paros.

Every morning starts with meditation and pranayama, if the weather supports it the meditation and pranayama might be taught on the beach with an optional refreshing dive in the cool ocean afterwards, to build up strength and resilience! After breakfast, we will continue with a strong (ish) fluid yoga practice that focuses on loosening the body as well as strengthening and stabilizing the body and easing the mind. Everybody can work at their own level.

After lunch we’ll have a break where you can relax on the beach or go for walks in the beautiful surroundings of the centre.

In the late afternoon we come together for some more yoga and awareness practices. In this retreat, the afternoon focus will be on deeply relaxing and restoring the body and mind while beginning to open to the mystery of the present moment.

The day will end with a lovely dinner on Okreblue’s famous restaurant Carreta. Please visit the Okreblue website to view pictures of the centre, its facilities, and stunning surroundings.

Open to all levels

This retreat is open to all levels, but not for complete beginners. As a guideline, you should be able to follow the level 1 and level 1-2 classes on ekhartyoga.com with relative ease. It is important you know your boundaries and are aware when to back off to keep yourself safe.

If you are new to yoga and really want to join, follow Esther’s Beginners Vinyasa Yoga program on Ekhartyoga.com and then practise some level 1 and level 1-2 classes to prepare.

How to book

To book your space and for inquiries please use the contact box below and we will get back to you with further information about joining.

How to get there

You can reach Paros island by air or by boat from Athens. Please organise your travel so that you can arrive in time for the introduction evening session on Saturday May 5th. Departure is after breakfast on Saturday May 12th.

By plane:

Aegean Air flys from Athens to Paros. It is the only company flying this route so best to book in advance to avoid disappointment, it can get busy in the summer months.

For information, visit the Aegean Air website.
Another option is a charter flight to Mykonos island and then a 45-minute boat ride to Paros.

By boat from Athens:

You can take a boat to Paros from Athens from two ports – Rafina or Pireaus.

1) Rafina port is closer to Athens airport and you can get there either by taxi or bus.
By bus will take you about 45 minutes and it costs 3 Euros.

2) Pireaus port is further from Athens airport than Rafina, and you can get there by bus, metro or taxi. The metro and bus are both very convenient because they will leave you just a few meters from where you get the boat to Paros.
Both the bus and the metro take about one hour (the bus a little longer maybe depends on the traffic) to get to Pireaus and cost 10 Euros.

When you are in Paros, you can either catch the bus from Parikia (port of Paros) to Naousa and then a taxi to Okreblue, or a taxi straight to Okreblue.
Okreblue can also arrange a taxi to be waiting for you at the port or airport to take you to the centre.
